Any good games for iOs devices?

Naturally, FreeOrion is a great game, I've played it a lot. Sometimes though, you're away from the PC. I have an iPad Mini, iOs 11 currently. FO isn't available for the device.
Anyone know of some games reasonably similar that would worth looking at? I want AI opponents so that I can use it as a solitaire. I have tried Star Traders 4X, but found it lacking to a degree. It's really more of an economics game, with lots of time spent managing your colonies. I prefer a bit more action-oriented ones.
Naturally I prefer no-cost options, but a small fee wouldn't be out of the question.
