So I picked up a copy of moo3 a month ago, figured I should play it again for old times sake. Long story short, I've tried the CD copy I've got, and 3 other downloads of moo3, and everyone is giving me the same graphics error. The drop-down menus are always invisible and about 90% of the time when I pop open any tab, I get a few wavering, flashy bars on about half of where the window should be. Ive spent several hours looking through a few forums on moo, hoping to find someone else who shares this problem, but I havent seen anyone with this issue yet. My roommate says its cause I have a dual core processor and its just too damn fast for an old game like moo. He's pretty savvy and sharp so its likely he's right, but I'd like to see if any of you know of this problem and how I might can fix it, cause I sure would like to play moo3!

Thanks in advance for any help and comments =)

Moo3 is an exercise in sado-massochism... why torture yourself when there are MUCH better 4x games out there?? I mean... seriously... wtf are you thinking? But yeah... I seriously doubt anyone here bothers with moo3 any more and actually knows how to help you with your issue. Try sword of the stars or something instead!! :D

Heh, ok I might, I just like moo3 cause I'm one of those wierdos that loves roleplaying and infinite micromanagement/overcomplicated games (like transport tycoon, dwarf fortress, armored core, etc).

Never seen sword of the stars, might try it out, thanks =)

Try this game:

http://www.astroempires.com/

It is a free mmo space 4x game. You don't need to download or install anything. It is all browser based.
Heaps of fun.

This game is fun and snazzy! Thanks for showing it to me and maybe I'll play it more one day. This is definately one of the best web games I have ever played. Thanks! <3

The natural solution would be to run the game on a single core....

But I don't really know much about these things, or how you would go about doing that.

That's very simple... in windows XP anyways... simply press ctrl + alt + del. Next, click on the processes tab. Select the appropriate program from the list. Right-click the CPU entry on the appropriate line. Select set affinity from the list... and there ya go!! :P

(disclaimer: Not sure how to do it in other versions of windows, but I suspect it's pretty much the same!!)

Yeah, you can, and need to, do that in Vista too.

MoO3 is perfectly fine, just install the user modification Tropical over it. Amazing game then!

You can find this modification (and others) at http://www.moo3.at/

Good luck!
