Any suggestions so far? Maybe thicker body? That's what I've been thinking...

Even your first attempt reminded me to the vulcan ship of the new enterprise series (the one with the zombie like crew). Maybe you could go more in this direction?

Ronald.

Ya, I liked those vulcan ships, but the thing is, I don't think you should be adding weapon mounts to the models, unless you make them easily removable later...

Btw, what server do you use to host these pics? I would love to use it...

You should also add abit of hull detail, and cover up where the ring meets the stick thing.

Not saying you need to change it, but that long slender nose would probaly need to be asthetic ; only because it would be difficult to strengthen and armor such a narrow part of the ship(relative to rest of ship). This is a realism remark and doesn't necessarily apply to FO components. Just providing you something to think about. You might think it hideous, but how about clipping part of the nose and applying a sensor dish sort of like ST's Enterprise's lower body part?

That Guy: Yeh, I really just added the weapons to make it look better lol. I'm guessing that the weapons will just be added to the models later? Also, I use my own Comcast website for this stuff (cause I get it free cause I have Comcast internet), and about detail, I'm not exactly sure what to do......I'm just horrible at making up new ideas for this kind of stuff LOL.
Sandlapper: As for aesthetics, I don't care right now. Later models I'll probably care, but not right now. As for a sensor dish and stuff, I know that a lot of military fighter jets and all have all their sensory stuff inside the nose of the craft, but I'll see what I can do.

Blast! That sucks, I will invade your server! Lol, just kidding...

Ya, I ain't great at the fine detail part either, but we have time to refine the shapes, and work on them ...

Yeah. I know I could add detail, but like I said, I have the worst mind ever at thinking of WHAT detail to add.

Hey rob,

How far are you? I decided to work on my frigate size ship, which for now I have named the Valley Forge class. I do need to add abit more detail, but it is mostly done, and there are no faces that are partially visable, and partially hidden, so it will be easy to UVW unwrap.

I also have a web site that I hope lets remote viewing of pics:
This one is called the evolution of the Valley Forge. It has all 4 models I have made of it since I started to model.

Anyways, good luck on it.

Edit: Ok, it doesn't work....
Just copy this into the address bar :( .

Btw, the closest one it the newest one.

That Guy: could use a bit more light on your models in the render so you can view minor details and such. Either that, or use a bit lighter texture. Good, solid ship design so far.

Ya, it looks nice already, I just think it needs afew smaller details. So, do you have any pics of it now? And do you have other models you have been working on?

Man, I know star trek, and THOSE are star trek. Even the ones in your other post.

Plus, I don't want to be replaced!

Ya, his work is great, but I am just wondering if he could make his own ship line or just does star trek...

From what I have seen, his site has many non star trek ship sets. He is sort of a ledgened in the Space Empires circle.

I would not worry about being replaced by him, first you have to get him intersted in helping, and from I have read, that is something he likes to do, support those who are involved by helping them.

Case in point, after the person who was designing the Star Trek Mod lost all of his data, and the hopes of many Star Trek Fans went down the drain, he offered to help rebuild the mod. We now have a great mod thanks to him and a few others who helped get it off the ground.

I just happened to stumble onto this site a few days ago and thought it would be something that he would be interested in. I emailed him, but have received no response. I looked to see if he registared, but he has not. So I posted info about his work hoping that one of you would be able to see if he would be willing to pitch in or something. He has designed many ship sets, and I am sure they could be used for the effort as well.

Who knows.

:?:

Lol, ya, I just found his other models. They are all amazing, but they also look high polygon....

Anyways, I doubt you would want mine or robk's, or anyone elses models if he joins and makes all these wicked ones, ours would look like crap :( .

It is just how I feel, but I do tend to be paranoid...

... BUT HE IS SO SKILLED!!
