This is completely of my own bat. Simply for fun.

Swamp Cwoll (Bogtroticas Raticas) more comanly known as a Swamp Gumpy
Usually found on Type Three Swamp worlds, the Gumpy is one of the many animals that propagated itself across the galaxy eons ago via starship holds during the time of the Orions.
They are omnivors and like to be around water - the muddier the better.

These stroppy little fellas are hard to tame, And are generally known as having the biggest persicution complex in the galaxy.(well maybe , just the swamp)
They seam to have the attitude that everything belongs to them personally(including you). But since absolutly nothing takes them seriously, niether animal nor even swamp plants I might add. They scurry around with a constant look of hurt and indignation making accusatory sounds at anything that will listen.

Always keep your boots inside your tent at night while down in the marshes, as they like to swing them into water with a few stones in the toe for just measure.
Keep your vehicule cabin shut too unless you want an arguement about ownership in the morning.

The Cooty Glider, found on many type 3 swamp worlds. This harmless and friendly little critter is presumed to have migrated accross the galaxy many eons ago via the holds of some long forgotten trading race.
Considered good pets by some and good eating by others, they are festidiosly clean. House training consists of teaching it not to eat any ornimental wax candles that you may have laying around and not much else.
With their hanglider like wings extended the cooty can do all sorts of acrobatic stunts and often do just for the shear fun of it.

Having one sitting on your shoulder was all the vogue a few decades back. Meet an old asteriod miner or merchant on the frontier world and chances are youll find a cooty doing barrel rolls and loops down the corridors of their ship.
While very good at keeping your ship free of alien creepy crawlies and bugs, a word of warning. Cooties and aircon duct fans don't mix. Put a grill over yours and save a nasty mess.

Nice pictures.

Flavor text is a good thing. Reminds me of my favorite aspect of SMaC and Myth: the Fallen Lords--both games felt like there was a large, deep backstory beneath the surface.

Very nice work, as usual, Obiwan. Keep at it!

I could see those little critters making it into some humerous sitreps, in FO.

Like "Swamp Cwolls have been imported to your colony at %s. Productivity is decreased by 10 % for as long as your Transporter-pilots aren't told to lock their freighters."?

Yeah, Yoghurt, something exactly like that came to mind.

How about " Our spies, on the planet Corinth, have sucessfully infested the enemies main food distribution network with Swamp Cwolls."

On the other hand, the common walphool has shown great ability when cybernetically enhanced. It makes a good and loyal recon unit when outfitted with the following enhancements.

These images look fantastic, as usual. It is my intention for us to develop a full history and universe for the FreeOrion world to make it immersive. As drek said, that's something I also loved about SMAC.
