Hi,

I'm interested in getting involved in this project. I really like the MOO games and it was a pity to see MOO3 fail so badly.

My skillset includes: 3D generalist in Maya, fluent in Adobe CS, some object-oriented programming.

I think ideally I would like to create some concept art for the spaceships to start. I could also do some 3D modelling or create icon sets.

Right now my time is pretty limited, but I can envision myself making a hearty contribution.

Welcome. If you're into 3D modelling, take a look at what pd has done in terms of ship modeling. If you're up for it, you're more than welcome to take a look at the species page and pick one to do up some ships for.

Thanks for the links. Those models look awesome. When I get into the groove I will join in the modelling effort. For now I could help out with some concepts though.

Is there a list somewhere of which species still need concepts?

Based on a forum Search, nobody has done concepts for Scylior. May I do them?

To my knowledge, no such list exists. Feel free to do concepts for any species that interests you, or create models based on existing concept - though if you can find one you like that already has theme music written for it, that would be even better; it would be a pity to end up with mismatched music and ship designs, because the artists and composers couldn't agree on what species to put in the game. The ones I've written music for (plus the Chato'matou'Gormoshk) are the most universally agreed-upon to be in the final game anyway.

Sounds good. I will draw some for the Egassem. They have music and seem interesting.
