Is anyone already working on a french translation? I might have enough time to make a more or less correct/complete french string table, or at least a good beginning (it looks huge).

I've written the according page in the wiki : http://www.freeorion.org/index.php/Fre_stringtable.txt
It seems the string table I used for a start was outdated, I've got some errors instead of the actual text in the game.

You should always use the latest eng_stringtable.txt from svn as the basis for translations. Other existing translations are probably based on older versions of eng_stringtable.txt, which can unfortunately cause errors if used with the game.
