Did you make sure to use content files from revision 3785?
Yes has established game of version 0.3.15 and has then replaced three files from archive revision 3785

Did you download the tarball and replace the entire default folder(where the content files are)? Replacing the 3 executables is not sufficient.

2. Get the contents of the default folder using SVN or grab a tarball of the corresponding revision.
3. Unzip a build and overwrite the original files from the installation folder

You can always check for the latest changes at http://cia.vc/stats/project/FreeOrion/

FreeOrion_Win32_3785.zip is available.

To update your default folder, either grab this tarball or specifically update to revision 3785.
Hmmm.... What do I do wrong?
Image

1. Last 0.3.15 installed.
2. SVN updated.
3. All files located at trunk/FreeOrion copied to current game folder
4. Overwrited exe fils with 3785 rev.

This one is normal I think, at least I'm having it as well. The changes in code and contentfiles at this point are probably incomplete.

Did you update specifically to revision 3785 or, did you just update(to the most recent one by default).

Hmm...
Used "SVN Update" by tortoise.
I thought that this application updates all new files, edited, changed too.
Do you suggest SVN Update to new directory to load all files "as new" again?

You've updated to the most recent version by doing it this way. Do it again, but this time choose "update to revision" and type 3785.

Yes. It's a good idea to keep the files you change and edit yourself somewhere seperate, as a backup, I've lost mine countless times :/

Hmmm... sorry, but it is too complicated for me to run the game...
When I download a 3785 rev which directory should I copy into main game directory?

Every build posted here comes in 2 parts: executables(3 files) and content files(the entire default folder). The executables can be downloaded via direct links posted here. The content files can be downloaded using the tarballs, also posted here, or by updating using SVN to the specific revision.

The executables go into the freeOrion root folder and the content files go into freeOrion/default.

FreeOrion_Win32_VC90_3917.zip is available. This file includes the necessary .dll files from the July 17th's SDK, so you don't have to download them seperately.

To update your default folder, either grab this tarball or specifically update to revision 3917.

changes:
- mouse centered zoom
- cleaner list views (empire screen/production screen)
- unknown stars and deep space
- extended fuel range, seperate scouting and colonization fleets
- much improved and integrated encyclopedia
- huge update of species icons
- see cia.vc for (much) more

FreeOrion_Win32_3946.zip is available.

To update your default folder, either grab this tarball or specifically update to revision 3946.

If you haven't gotten the previous build, you'll have to get the the dll's from the July 17th SDK, either from sourceforge or from r3917.

Re: Build 7946

#45 Post by kupferdrache »

I have taken a closer look on Build 7946 and found something mentional:

1. Research: The TechTree is partly out of the top of the researchscreen (all compared to 0.3.15(Buildnumer?), this ist a new issue)
2. Tech: Orbital construktion doesn't apply (new) 1)
3. Stuture/Building: Industial Farms is unbuildable (new)
4. AI: 1 of 3 AI I found in 150 Turn (one game) made a colony and sended scouts for exploration, a 4th AI sended a scout for exploration rest i duno
5. If show explorationradi is endabled, AIships radi are drawn, where not AIship is anymore (if only seen, but not deafed) (new?)
6. exloreradius for optial scanner was reduces from 15 (planets+ships) to 5 (planets) respectively 3 (ships) (not a problem, but i was surpised)
7. important! Resource display doesn't work (shows ### (+0,00) for all resources) causes research and production are hard to manage (new)

1) I have tried to fix this by my own, but this made it worse, after the change in techs.txt a error occurs on loading a save and start a new game will hung a create universe and AI. The code in Techs.txt isn't good readable a more like SidMeyers Alpha Centaurie Style seem to be better imho.

For first thats all, i hope I get a quick anwser.

Kind regards
