Also, I have a manual page that includes all the hotkeys, or at least as far as I knew them at the time I wrote the page:
http://www.freeorion.org/wiki/index.php?title=Manual
Might be worth combining the Quick Play Guide and Manual, or at least including hotkeys in both or crosslinking where appropriate.

The link is dead. Maybe the post above should be updated to reflect the change.
This one appears to work:

That was the Quick Play Guide for v0.2. Now that v0.3 is out, it's best to link to (and read) the v0.3 Quick Play Guide.
Re: Quick play guide
Updated the quick play guide to reflect the changes introduced in rev 4252 and rev 4279. They are marked as referring to those revisions, to keep newbies in the clear!
Also, the guide contains some tips for the beginners now - look for them at the end!

Great.
People like to complain about the documentation but few are willing to do anything about it.
Life frequency also effects the number of space monsters.

Re: Quick play guide
Anyone willing to capture some screenshots for the next revision of the guide?
I noticed rev 4521 (test installer) has some new features (damage a ship can inflict being displayed among them) and some of the icons changed. A screencap of the starting fleet would be nice so that I could get to updating the guide without worrying about the illustrations being out of date...

Re: Quick play guide
Set to work today, updated with various stuff added in newer SVN revisions and in FO 0.4 RC2.
Can't get the pic above to work. Also, I noticed that system sidepanel pics are both out of date (especially the big one, which shows big icons for the buildings, which are long out of use).

What did you try, and how did it not work? It works fine for me.Zireael wrote:Can't get the pic above to work.
The larger icons are not out of use; you can show the larger icons by clicking the down arrow at the top-right of the buildings panel. Also, I noticed that system sidepanel pics are both out of date (especially the big one, which shows big icons for the buildings, which are long out of use).
