Well... wow. Doesn't GalCiv's AI have the reputation of being one of the strongest around? I'm not sure if our AI can really live up to that kind of praise - yet. 8)
I feel enthusiastic about my next game (that will be for current weekly build, can't wait)
Um, just a heads-up concerning the weekly test builds: we won't have those this week, as RC1 is scheduled for tomorrow. I don't do the weekly test builds once we get to the release candidates, the latter kind of replace the former until the release is out.

For one, the additional building, packaging, uploading, announcements etc. would be too much, and two, I want our playtesters to focus on the release candidates, not on weekly test builds of master in that phase. ;)

Hmm... When I played GalCiv2 I didn't have Internet at home so I had no social interaction with other players nor browsed forums or whatever (I just played it for a while till I won against the hardest difficulty through the 4 ways of victory with my custom race). Now I realise that maybe GalCiv's AI was crap (was it? for me it seemed relatively easy to overwhelm it, but was good enough to not look stupid but make you feel you are just better) and that I may have done a stupid or offending comparison here. I certainly think FO's AI is superior in terms of kicking my ass.

Regarding RC1, it is more than reasonable to skip the weekly builds when RCs are being tested even if packaging, etc. was free (fully automated).
I'll download and install RC friday as the latest. I really need to try those carriers...

Might be that just applies to the original OS/2 version.
