3388: Splitting a fleet mid-transit loses ships

#1 Post by jsena »

Mac OS X 10.4.11
FreeOrion is build 3388

Start a new game
Move your battle fleet to a system that is 2+ turns away
End Turn
Click on the battle fleet, split fleet, send one of the ships to another destination

The other ship becomes un-clickable and stuck in space where it is for the rest of the game.

Let me know if this isn't easily reproducible for others and I will attach logs.

What happens if you close and re-open the fleets window?

If I close the fleets window and then hit 'F', it brings me to the first Mark I that got split out. Hitting 'F' again moves the map over to where the other Mark I is, but does not select it. I see the detection circle on the map (just hanging out in the middle of the starlane), but no icon for that ship.

I've "fixed" this by removing the capability to order fleets to be split when ships aren't in systems, which should have been the case anyway.
