In Debian mailing list I found that there will be boost 1.37 in few days(some license problems need to resolve). Boost 1.37 probably requires FreeOrion patch.

Problem with boost is that 1.36 has a serious bug in serialization functions on amd64 and now Linux vendors(at least Ubuntu and Debian) removed boost 1.36 from repositories.

Patching FreeOrion to boost 1.35 is not a good idea and therefore we must wait to boost 1.37 and then to create FreeOrion patch.

I guess I'll be an 'early tester' of the 1.37 patch when it comes out to Debian, then.

Just discovered that they're including libboost 1.36 in Ubuntu Jaunty. Added the Jaunty repo's to my machine, and installed all the relevant repositories.

I'm still running into the problem w/ scons not being able to find boost_serialization.

I have created a thread in the Compile section.
