I've just downloaded and build revision 4891, and get an error when I try to run FreeOrion.exe

ERROR: The following categories were defined in techs.txt, but no techs were defined that fell within them: "CONSTRUCTION CATEGORY", ..........

(Moved from Compile forum)

This isn't a compile problem; it sounds like techs.txt hasn't been properly updated for the code changes in 4891. Until that's fixed, you could try building 4890.

I'm fairly certain I updated all the techs, specials and buildings to remove any references to minerals... I made sure it ran on my system before committing, and didn't exclude any files from the commit. Are you certain you're using the most recent default folder?

This might be a case of needing to delete config.xml if you previously had a different version of FreeOrion installed at a different location, which is still remembered in the config.xml, leading to incompatible content txt files being read in by the newly-built version.

I've taken my sources back to 4890 using Tortoise, built, and run successfully.
(note that the top of the main window shows [SVN 4857] but I presume this is just an out of date build string?)

I did check and change the directory, in the options menu, from which the game loads resources

Yes.

I've built and run the 4891 and didn't have any problems, so I'm inclined to think you're loading the wrong content files.

Steaker, did you try to delete config.xml, as Geoff suggested?

I'll try a clean checkout of the head when my new machine arrives.
All a bit painful just now on a tired Athlon X2, so brushing up on Python, and reading around the forums and wiki
