a slight refinement: I have brought into compliance SVN5021 file http://freeorion.org/index.php/Rus_stringtable.txt and crash with arial began to appear rarely, and after the increase and then decrease the font size - crash gone.

One interesting thing: when DejaVuSans font size 18, artifacts disappear, but it's too big font for adequate gaming.
