AI:The path to the superiority

Here, various developers can tell you all about what they're up to, so you can yell at them for being idiots. "... and there was a great rejoicing."

AI:The path to the superiority

#1 Post by OndrejR »

This will be blog about my thoughts about long path to AI superiority in FreeOrion - when AI eliminates the human race, and humans would be powerless to stop them.

First there is need to solve fuel problem.

This won't be a short trip. But years to achieve. All of us have other lives and FreeOrion is only hobby.

As someone who has spent a great deal of time discussing the concept of Friendliness w/ actual researchers in the field of general artificial intelligence, I would ask that y'all find a different word for that than "Singularity". It's... misleading.

I agree that singularity is more than AI. I changed title. More info about it can be found on The Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence

Currently I am working on fuel problem.

1. step

done:
  • fuel problem(a few optimizations still needed)
  • initial research and production, where AI something do(in current state demands don't matter)
not started:
  • able to identify strategic locations
  • able to attack and protect strategic locations
  • able to identify resources needed to win battle - it knows it has a good chance of winning, otherwise retreats
  • how well it can identify its situations and formulate a strategy
  • able to defend vulnerable ships tactically
  • don't overbuild something
  • places buildings in good spots
  • builds good ships and counter ships
  • demands
  • priorities
  • researches are more focused for purpose
