I played the last numbered release (FreeOrion_v0.4.5_2015-09-01.f203162_Test_Win32_Setup.exe)
and I tried the latest test build (FreeOrion_2016-07-26.ba59cf7_Test_Win32_Setup.exe)
Which one would the developers prefer that I played?
Are they dramatically different?
I did notice some things I liked in the test build that weren't in the numbered release.
Which version to play

Re: Which version to play
Testing the latest builds is much more useful than the (rather outdated) release build.
Re: Which version to play
The most recent Release is nearly a year old and we're hoping to get the next one out this summer (we would be onto Release Candidates if it weren't for Personal Life Stuff), generally the Release is for new players to try out, once you know you like the game the most recent Test is virtually always better, the only exception is if there's a game breaking bug in which case the previous weeks works, and we rarely get them.
