Deleted game directory before starting the app:

$ rm -rf Library/Application\ Support/FreeOrion/

Start app, change no settings from default, Click Single Player, Click OK to start. Game window goes black, star field doesn't even show up.

Can you make sure there are no other freeorion or freeoriond processes running before starting a game?

Can you check what's running when you've clicked single player but not yet OK? (There should be an instance of freeoriond)

Can you run freeoriond from the console, and then check for a freeoriond.log?

If one exists, can you then run "freeorion --force-external-server" in another console, and try to start a game?

Looks like I did have zombie freeoriond processes. Restarted the app after `killall freeoriond` and works normally. What causes those to stick around?
