This is minor, but I wanted to mention an odd colonization done by an AI.
A system had 2 medium desert planets, with the first having a Ki Spice special.
The Trith AI chose to colonize the second planet (without the special).
Shouldn't the AI algorithm chose the planet with the special?
1) There are no drawbacks, with the two planets being otherwise equal.
2) While it wouldn't benefit the Trith directly, it might help later in the game (if they conquer a Mu Ursh planet, for example).
3) Other AI players might try to colonize the second planet, precisely because it has a special. Colonizing it discourages poaching/trespassing.
(Like I said, a minor point, but anything that makes the AI "smarter" helps the game.)

Yes, it looks like when I had shifted from giving a flat bonus for such specials, there are a couple ways that it wound up lacking. I'll make a note to revisit that.
