Hi!
I just stumbled over FreeOrion and this brought back my interest to write a similar program for the PocketPC. Using the current design / requirement document, it will be much easier for me (not to mention the gfx).
Of course, the Pocket PC requires a different approach for the user interface and some things that make fun on a big screen are not suitable for a handheld, but the internal game flow hopefully doesn't require too many changes.
If someone is interested in the project, feel free to contact me. (Programming language is C++, AI will be done with Lua to allow simple finetuning without re-compilation).

I think a more practical approach would be to create sort of a "mod" where you only change what's neccesary for the game to work on your format. Making an decent AI is a ton of work. There's no reason to duplicate that effort when the PocketPC has no unique AI requirements.
