Translation to other languages?

I made a new Brainstorming thread (and wiki entry) about Translation / Stringtable stuff...

(It's not entirely redundant, in that the new thread is hopefully for discussion of the stuff on the wiki and slightly more technical details that probably don't belong on a Suggestions thread.)

I'm making an italian translation of FO... soon i'll post it so the italian player can easily help too...
The research portion is really long to translate and the dinamic description of various effects sometimes do not have much sense ... But i'm working on it!

This project is great !
I think I can manage to start translation in French. But, I need to know how to do this. I didn't read the code yet, so I need to have some intel to translate properlly in French.

While looking at http://www.freeorion.org/index.php/Languages I saw that nobody had begun translating FreeOrion into Swedish. I could sure give it a try. In fact, I have already started a little with making a Swedish stringtable.
How do I edit the wiki to upload it there?

... assuming "Swe" is the proper 3 letter abbreviation of "Swedish"... I'm just guessing on that.
