- There is no secondary focus nowadays
- There is no Medium Ship Hulls tech and you can build Colony ships from the start
- It needs to be stressed that 1 PP = 1 industry point AND 1 mining point
- I see no Economics techs in-game (either the guide is wrong or it is planned for the future and not marked as such)

I'd like to see the readme (possibly based on this guide) attached to the game.

Feel free to create a wiki account and update the Quick Play Guide yourself to correct obvious factual errors / out of data information...

It is unfortunate, but we realize the documentation is usually out of date.

We're a very small team on a game very far from being complete, so when we have time to work on FreeOrion, documentation usually isn't picked, especially since it too quickly becomes obsolete.

But as Geoff says, it's a wiki, so we welcome the help of the broader community to keep it current.

It can be created?

Why can't I edit the wiki?

A: Unfortunately, the FreeOrion wiki is continually targetted by link spam bots. Almost any page linked off the main page will be repeatedly defaced unless it's protected from edits. Limiting editing to registered users doesn't seem to help, as the spammers seem to be easily able to make throwaway accounts (see the block log).

If you want to discuss the FreeOrion project, the wiki or anything else, you should register on and use the forums. Registered forum users can post.

So can it be created or not? Could I edit the page after I create an account?

If by "it" you mean a wiki account, yes.

The quick play guide page is not currently edit protected, so any registered wiki user can edit it.

I updated the Quick Start Guide (mostly by deleting the stuff that was no longer true). Two questions: is the balanced setting still available? Will the secondary focus be re-introduced?

A suggestion: Roadmap is edit protected. It might be worth noting that v.0.3 contains races with different preferences, contrary to what it says under v.0.2.

EDIT: What about a "Tips for Beginners" page where we could list the most useful techs, for example?

That could be added as a section to the guide, if you are so inclined.

Thanks for the reply, I'm off to fix the guide a little bit more.

Re: Tips for Beginners - please tell me what it should contain. Right now I can think only of Habitation Domes and Space Elevators.

Also, how to expand the fastest....

It needs to tell people how to group up ships.
