Curmudgeonians:
The Curmudgeonians have been there; done that. They are hunch-backed, crusty-looking humanoids. Somewhere in their evolution, they developed a type of cellular memory that carries the experiences of their ancestors from one generation to another. Even their newborn children are jaded and bitter from the memories of a thousand dead end jobs, myriad rejections from members of the opposite sex, and countless disputes with the phone company.

They can do almost anything, but getting them to do it is the hard part. They have absolutely no ambition, because they already know the disappointing outcome. They move along slow and steady doing below average at all levels, until they are threatened. That’s when they finally get motivated to do things, and they do those things well. When the threat is gone, they return to their previous levels of dullness.

This sounds like an awesome minor race. Like it would be one of the useless ones.
