Hey,

I am a college student trying to improve my OO C++ skills by learning from FreeOrion. I got FreeOrion to compile without errors on Xcode 4.3.2 using LLVM GCC 4.2. But when the program is run after compiling it is passed a -N argument. The -N argument causes FreeOrion to crash. When I run FreeOrion from the build directory the program runs without crashing. Supposedly the arguments passed during a build are set from the arguments tab of the scheme editor in xcode 4. I don't see any arguments in this section let alone -N. Does anyone know where the argument came from?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I did some more digging and found that the error was coming from a new "Feature" of Xcode 4. There are some details about the bug and how to fix it here. Basically to fix it uncheck "allow debugging when using document revision mode" in the options tab of the run section of the scheme for for FreeOrion.

As the FO Xcode project is maintained as a Xcode 3 project, and the option in question has obviously been introduced with Xcode 4, this fix cannot be commited to SVN at the time being.

That probably should be done. I don't have a login to edit wiki pages yet, but have already requested one, so should be able to do that soon.

I've added your description of this fix to the wiki now.
