Would a consitantly rendered set of 3D versions be needed.

AFAIK we don't yet have an economics icon in the same style flat monochromatic style as the others... If it is intended to use Obiwan-style 3D rendered images, then that's fine, but IMO the flat ones work better for this purpose.

In other words, I think you're a bit late with that. Nice try though... :)

"Complete" or not, its not stopping anyone from making/attempt to make better ones? The ones we have now arent even 100% sure that they will even be used at all. Enough for v0.3, perhaps.

New designs can still be proposed, but we now have an official complete list. This means that developers and others can use the selected icons in the game and elsewhere.

If better designs are proposed, then we will consider them - but there is no longer a need for proposals.

On this topic, if one of you has time could you make a single image that includes all the different icons at the requested resolution? Will be easier if we have them all in one location.

~400KB a piece... contains PNG (transparent) and EPS files. Packed zip.

EDIT:
LINKS REMOVED, see below.

PNG's are non-interlaced, also i used superPNG to pack them as small as i could.

Might I sugjest that the Wrench handle extending out of the Construction icon be made a bit longer to give the overall symbol more of a "Q" like shape, I think that would be a bit more atractive and unique.

Also the Production Icon I belive would be better as a plan factory without the gear like stuff at the bottom. Its too easily confused with the above Construction and its a little bit too much like the SMAC Industrial Automation tec Icon for my tastes (we dont want to be accused of plagarizing SMAC's Tec Icons).

The new Growth Icon looks interesting and might work, but I would sugjest it be flipped unsidedown, right now it looks very similar to the beaker when both are shrunken very small.

On the Learning Icon, I sugjest the Bubbles be make completly hollow, this will let them show up more promonently on the shrunken icon.

Which is preferred as the growth symbol:

or

The top one was the one I officially said was chosen. But Mystiqq's proposal is also acceptable, so let me know which you all prefer.

I actually prefer Mystiqqs too. It fills up square space better and is simple but distinctive. And we can still use a plain triangle elsewhere in the game without confusing the player.
