 Post subject: A couple Tool-Tip Requests

Here's a couple ways the tool-tips could be improved that occurred to me:

A) Species Tooltips for the Galaxy Generation screen.
It would be great if i could write a few lines to be displayed when you hover over a species before starting the game. The one sentence synopsis and notable strengths and weaknesses.

B)Customizable tooltips for Species.
When you hover over an icon of a meter that a species effects, it will have a line like: "Species Human +3.00". It's not clear how the species are contributing. Most of these species contributions are macro based, so there's generally "Terrible Farming", "Good Farming" etc, each usually shared by many species.
So if it said instead: "Good Farmers" or "Bad Farmers" you would get not only the number, but context and comparison with other species. And where a stat is common to all species, but happens to be defined in species.txt, such as infrastructure: "Average Infrastructure" wouldn't imply that a particular species are doing anything special.

Implementation-wise, i'm imagining a something that could go in a macro.

That's why I did: http://freeorion.svn.sourceforge.net/vi ... 70&r2=4772

The species tooltips just uses the existing species description.

Is there a way to specify the parameters in the accounting tooltips, similar to GenerateSitRepMessage? I think "PlanetName Bad Mining" is less informative than "SpeciesName Bad Mining".

Not at present... It'll take a bit of recoding to have both source object name and the "specific cause" of the effect (ie. species name, ship part name, hull name, or special name) available. Techs are also a bit different, in that they more usefully have an empire name and tech name, and no source object name, but that's otherwise the same arrangement. It'll end up being that you'd use one or both of %1% and %2% to insert those bits of text as desired.
