0.1 does need more starpictures for mapview.
In following colors:

-Blue
-White
-Yellow
-Orange
-Red
-Neutron
-Black hole

Each of them should have 3 variants, (plain, with two bright lines, etc.)
Submit in 128x128. Discussion about stars, their mass, temperature etc. can be found here:
http://www.artclusta.com/bb/viewtopic.p ... c&start=15

I want these stars to be ready in 0.1, so that we dont have to worry about them later. We have about two weeks time left, so anyone voluntary? I'll skip that comet for now and concentrate on these, but all help is welcome.

Cheers
Miu

Please forgive the intrusion:

Unless things changed when I wasn't looking, the star colors were passed as a part of the following document:

http://www.drektopia.com/startypes4.htm

They were listed as:

Blue: The hottest stars.
White: Hotter than average, a very pale green, almost white.
Yellow: The most common star in a mature galaxy. Average.
Orange: Cooler than average, a vibrant orange.
Red: Large cool stars.
Neutron: The remains of a star from a supernova explosion.
Blackhole: The event horizon surrounding a singularity formed from the collapse of a super-massive star.

I can recall dicussing green stars, purple stars, and pink polka dotted stars with burndaddy as well, so that list is certainly open to amendment.

Aquitaine would be the man who knows for certain.

My bad, didn't check that list I got.
You're right. That's what is passed atm. I'll fix that on request. Thank you for correcting :)

Actually, it wasn't miu's fault, it was mine; I forgot to check the passed star colors before giving him that list.

How do you submit pictures? I guess I'll just email you directly, miu.

oops! I sort on vacation right now. My pictures are half on the other side of the world. I sent them to Miu awhile ago so maybe Miu can forward them to you.

I just drew some general shapes and supposely add more stars latter. I didn't add sun glow rings or anything but you can change them in any way you see fit. You can also filter or change the hue for the different colors instead of drawing them new. I think I drew 4 kinds--plus with the 2 from galaxy map we should be good.

O yah, you didn't specify the detail so they are in white background and in jpg, but you can easily change them in Photoshop.

Actually, we need them with alpha=0 backgrounds, and png format, FYI.

Very nice, only the red one looks a little odd - the border could be smoother.

oh, i like the red ones better then most of the others, they look old and huge..
first blue sun has to be replaced. i could add structure (like the blue01star, but very transparent) to all of them. gotta try out.
i agree with borders, less halo fx is needed.

I think the first blue looks really cool. Maybe not realistic.. but very cool.

What about storms and nebule ala in space empires IV (localised and system wide) - im not into the graphic artistry myself (just some suggestions if anyone does paint them for the game)

I think the more that can be contributed the better.
