Pedia Problem

#1 Post by EricF »

I've noticed an odd problem with certain Pedia entries.
When you look at the Pedia entries for ship hulls from the Main Menu it lists the cost of just about every ship hull as 999k PP.
But, if you look at the same entries in the in game Pedia it shows the correct values.
Not a big deal. Just thought someone might want to know.
Using FreeOrion_2017-05-23.9467291_Test_Win32_Setup.exe test build.

Interesting; I see that also seems to apply to any buildings (like terraforming) or techs (like psionics) whose cost depends upon some aspect of the universe (which does not exist at the point you are checking the Pedia here). Could you post a github issue on this for us?

For some content, the cost or research / production time depends on the game situation. If viewing the item in the pedia out of a game, it defaults to an arbitrary big number, as there is no game situation on which to base the numbers.

It would be better to have something say "unknown, depends on circumstance" or even "X + Y * planet size" if possible, an aribratrary large number is unhelpful, a statement saying it can't be calculated is better, a breakdown of the calculation best.
