My main interest in FreeOrion is to add OpenAL support and learn how to handle OpenAL and libvorbisfile doing that. Later I can do some modelling for the battle engine... but only providing someone can texture the models, as I suck at that.
Any ground-breaking news about the progress will be announced in the forums/freeorion-programming mailing list, but here can be found something of a log of current progress.
OpenAL progress
Build system
- Progress: 90%
- To be hopefully done by someone else :)
Current code cleanup
- Progress: 100%
Ogg file decoding
- Progress: 90%
- Possible updates: no longer relying on fopen/fclose/fseek etc.
Code testing for anomalies
- Progress: 100%
- Any problems now should be system-specific
Windows version
- Progress: 90%
- Not tested on all possible system configurations.
