Re: Ship Types(An alternative to simple sizes)
Templates might also be useful when it comes time to do the AI -- the AI would probably end up doing the exact same thing to design it's ships, after all!

Re: Developer (and artist? and sound?) recruiting
Alright, I'll start poking around. I should have emphasized the 'novice' part a bit more than I did, though... a quick glance at some of the programming work page tells me I'm already in way over my head. "std::pair<GG::Key, GG::Flags<GG::ModKey> >" makes almost (almost... std is what I ke...

Personally, I just didn't 'get' it. Hence why I never got the two expansions...Zanzibar wrote:Again... quite confused as to what you saw as terrible about the game, especially after the 2 expansions...
I keep considering giving it a second chance, especially now that it, and the expansions, are on Impulse.

Re: Developer (and artist? and sound?) recruiting
I know it's been a long, long , LOOOONG time since I've been seen around these parts... But I'm getting close to finishing my computer science degree, which means that, in theory , I might be able to help with coding. And I'm lacking anything to do to further my education over the summer, as I wasn'...

21/M/Sunny California I did some helping with the music files a long time ago, nothing really useful... I'm back to see if I can be pigeonholed anywhere, but alas my skills really aren't up to the challenge (one semester of C++ = useless :( ) So my skills basicly boil down to thumping heads, being o...

Wow. Its already out in pre-release? It *has* been a while. To bad I (probably) won't be able to get the full version. Man, loosing internet access *SUCKS*! edit: Bug # 1 : if you colonize a planet with the last ship in the fleet, game crashes when you close the fleet window. Also, i can't seem to f...

New piece to work with? Kool! The volume seems a little low... (may just be my system, as usual, with its cuddy 10$ speaker set...) Only thing I can come up with is the steady drums towards the end (started maybe about halfway through) is a little monotonous. Try adding a little rhythm in there inst...

Hmmm.... I may be able to help with the intro / ending narration. Or, at the very least, its QA. Specificly, if *I* can understand whats being said, then the person doing it is enunciating clearly (I have difficulty hearing... I can hear sounds just fine , I just can't distinguish very well between,...

Oooh! I get to feel usefull again! Much needed now -- my term paper, on which I have been working for two weeks, was just corrupted. ARG! And I was going to update my week-old backup (e. g. the backup from after I'd gathered my sources and made an outline) today... And turn it in tommorrow. Well, I ...
