Re: Seventeenth game on the multiplayer slow game server

Feudalism and Vassalization require Confederation (and so are impossible to adopt with Centralization), and I think it should be the opposite, since Confederation implies freedom to stay in the empire and the others imply domination from a central government. Feudalism and Vassalizations are both m...

Re: Negative happiness/stability

Also one question, how do the rebels work currently? Is the number of rebels stable at -2 stability? They kill off troops one per rebel right, so if troops regenerate faster the rebels don't really matter Yes: https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/blob/master/default/scripting/species/common/troop...

Re: Testing Government and Influence

I like the idea of using All/Max or (All/Max)-1 because it simply rewards using a variety of focuses instead of e.g. production on almost all planets, while small changes have only a small effect. Not really, I think. It rewards not using a single focus much more than all the others, which is not t...

Re: Policy icons concept

Are the gold icons separate .png files, which can be used in other contexts, like a list, where more square-shaped icons would fit better?

Re: Testing Government and Influence

I intentionally did not include any dependence on the number of different focus settings that exist or are available, since this is potentially highly variable, unpredictable, and thus hard to balance against. Rather, the tests were just based on how many different focuses an empire currently uses a...

Re: Testing Government and Influence

Grummel7 suggests https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/pull/3593#issuecomment-948769707 using the ratio of ((number of planets with the most-used focus) over (total number of planets) - 1). This means any changes in the number of planets not using the most common focus has a minimal impact, genera...

Re: Testing Government and Influence

The formula of Balance is weird. You actually get a decent bonus when all your planets have the same focus since the difference becomes 0. This seems totally against the idea of Balance, I think it should use number of focuses - 1 as a factor. I've pushed a branch with the Balance focus-dependent f...

Re: Seventeenth game on the multiplayer slow game server

Seems a lot for balance? Note it only goes up that high when the capital is set to influence. Issues with Balance policy were mentioned here: https://freeorion.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=107997#p107997 I've pushed a branch with the Balance focus-dependent formula reworked. Needs "balance" testing, t...

Re: Testing Government and Influence

There was a bit of discussion about this on GitHub: https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/issues/3579#issuecomment-944879524 It should be possible to add something to the bottom of metertype X articles that automatically lists content (buildings, specials, techs, policies, fields, etc.) that contai...

Try updating that? I've got 15.9.28 and the Check for Updates thing in the Help menu says 15.9.40 is available.

Re: compile error

Do you have any other versions of boost installed that might be in an environment path variable?

What Visual Studio version are you using? (Full number in Help -> About)

Same line compiles fine for me.

What is BOOST_LIB_VERSION defined to for you?
