New Thousand Parsec client release!

Hello everyone, Anyone who has been around these boards for a while should remeber my project Thousand Parsec . It started about the same time as FreeOrion and has some very similar goals. It is more more heavily influenced by Stars! and VGA Planets rather then Master of Orion series. I'm happy to a...

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have been snowed under with my Honours project at University. If somebody could come up with a simple flow chart or a group of simple rules or something for an AI, I could most probably create one in a few hours. (IE Something like "If x do y".) The biggest problem with "just doing random stuff" is that I don't think it would actually do anything, the game req...

There is currently no single player version.

Eventually we hope to add a single player version but it requires development of AI.

We have only limited time and AI for a game like this is quite complicated so we have been putting it off.

Under windows the end user installation is very easy. You just download the yet to be created installer and double click :) I should have this installer finished by the weekend. Under Linux your package manager should do most of the heavy lifting and then you get the inplace package (which includes ...

Thousand Parsec is a game similar to Free Orion but much more heavily influenced by Stars!.

I would recommend checking it out if you are intrested in playing Stars! like clones and don't mine the lack of graphics.

As I've said previously I can host quite a bit of stuff. As long as the traffic doesn't exceed about ~90Gb per month everything would be fine. Extra traffic above that I would to look into better hosting. Personally, I would prefer people use something like Subversion (a revision control system) wit...

In order to have any project art server space, we'd need to either have everyone who wants to upload something register first, which would likely be too complicated and would act as a barrier to entry, Why would registering be a barrier to entry? Registering on the forums is required, why wouldn't ...

Loosing Artwork / Media Repository

Hello, Firstly, thanks to everyone who has pointed me to various artists and locations to finding bits of the FreeOrion artwork. I have however noticed that the graphics are scattered all over the place. For example, - The artwork being used is found here, http://freeorion.sf.net/data.zip - Some of ...

Source for Graphics

Hello! Free Orion looks really cool! So cool that I would like to use many of the graphics in my own project (Thousand Parsec - http://www.thousandparsec.net/). I was wondering if you store (or have) the source files for the images anywhere? If you have information about who created what and how to ...
