Your hardware is decent and imo should be able to run FO no problem on linux. I've run FO on linux on a ~2009 HP Mini which has a weak 1.6 atom processor and crappy integrated intel graphics. I've also run FO on linux on a 2011 iMac and it was running smoother than on OS X... What version of FO have...

I've incorporated the feedback as best I could and have now created my very first PR: https://github.com/freeorion/freeorion/pull/371 I'm familiar with git but not with the github workflow and pull requests, hope I did everything right... If everything's okay, I'll do another PR for the .blend asset...

A net loss compared to what? Exobot habitated Asteroid Belt? or Asteroid Belt on a system with a Planet? Have you considered systems with no planet and systems with two Asteroid Belts?

I'll do cleanup of the .blend files, and then I'll try to create a patch with dedicated names. That is, if there's no more feedback with suggestions for improvements.can we give them dedicated names and rename the icon links in the files

The cellular growth chamber is used to grow mono-cellular organisms thus I imagine it to look a bit like some laboratory test tube machine, only much bigger, and in orbit...:

Well, outposts have ground troops, they need to come from somewhere. Also I don't see why outpost ships should not require a crew, but then again, that should be no problem since in your case the species surely has 'Can build ships'.as there's no crew or population involved here....

Okay, so all players need to go to options -> other and turn 'binary serialisation' off, right? will try that.

well, it's just a general cocoon kind of shape. The reason it's not just one may be because you want to build multiple breeds of ships at the same time, or maybe the process of breeding a ship would require multiple stages in which the invironment needs to be different...

I feel like Asteroid hull buildings and organic hull buildings look too similar and I think that the organic hull buildings don't match the description, thus I've started work on new versions for the organic hull buildings. Here's a first try for the Orbital Incubator.

Can't reproduce that. There's only one texture file and it's packed in the .blend.The file is broken. A texture is missing.
