question about planetary bound species (e.g. phinnert)
Hi together, I have a question about planetary bound species. In my last game I met the phinnert. They have following text in their description: a) "can´t build ships" b) "can colonize planets" For my understanding a) is preventing b) to happen. Two possibilities... - Did I overs...

Re: Storing panel positions to config-file or savegame
but it's currently a relatively low priority I agree, but this is subjective  You must know that I am a very lazy person, so I try to avoid as much manual efforts as possible  And if some new feature of the game are still not working... who cares? Another example... for me as ...

Re: Checking planet suitability takes very long for big univ
I really didn´t want to blame sb with my question... therefore I use smilies :) I just want to learn about the game and the mechanics inside. And I like especially the big games and so I´ll wait. I am only thinking about the following... During an advanced game, if you already researched all technol...

Re: Shutdown windows process (AI client) if defeated
But isn´t it possible to end the process completely? Lots of things are possible, but require other stuff to be implemented first. In this case, there's nothing implemented to decide when an AI empire is defeated / can be excluded from future turns. Edit: Also, doing this during a game would likely...

Checking planet suitability takes very long for big universe
Hi together, another thumb question from schpidi, here we go... ;-) As I wrote in another threads, I am currently playing a 500 star / 20 AI game. I already conquered around 25%. I fully understand, that with the progression of the game (more colonized planets, number of fleets, effects, maybe stack...

Re: Shutdown windows process (AI client) if defeated
I'm surprised that the AI is slowing down the game after it's defeated. Is it actually using up CPU, or is it just holding on to memory? I assume it is not wasting too much CPU, because no buildings, production, fleets calculation etc. But for my big game it is still writing a 5-10MB AI log file fo...

Storing panel positions to config-file or savegame
Hi together, every time when I start playing and load my savegame again, the first thing what I do is to rearrange and resize all my window panels (fleet, empires, messages, sitrep, ...) Is it possible to save the current positions to savegame or the config file (when exiting the game) and to restor...

Shutdown windows process (AI client) if defeated
Hi all, I searched for the topic, but I found nothing accurate... Currently I am playing 500 stars 20 AI and I am running into performance issues, because I only have a medium sized system. I found that each AI client has its own windows process. So I had the idea not to attack them parallely. I tho...

Re: Unable yo Load Manual Save
Thanks for the quick answer. Usually I save after all my actions and before I hit the next turn button. Because of the big game I need some time to handle all my fleets, colonization etc. Therefore I thought no AI should be active, when I am in my turn. I will have a closer look on the AI when I sav...

Re: fr_stringtable
Consider an extreme case: 'Up'. In German 'Auf' (length is ok) but French 'Monter' or 'En haut', that's oversize!!!. maybe you could use some figures like "<<", ">>", "^^", "|<", ">|" for the small buttons. Everyone should be able to read out the co...

Unable yo Load Manual Save
Hi, sorry for the thumb question, I already searched for the topic, but I only found old or non-fitting information.... Could it be, that not only multiplayer savegames has a problem? I can´t load any manually saved single player savegame also. Currently I have the following situation: - Playing bui...

Re: German Translation
Hi together, first of all, sorry for exhuming this old thread, but the title is quite convenient for my topic... ;-) Because I like this game very much, I want to help to improve it. As it seems that for the last versions there was not much stuff translated into german, I told Geoff that I will have...
