okay, before we had text labels... i just found myself visually stumbling over the new art why couldn't the "click" functionality of the replacement "buttons" just get put into the "readouts" on the left side closer to the "next" button? it's a little redundan...

rebooted still wouldnt work
`rm -R ~/.freeorion` a couple more times...
still didn't work...
THEN
i got full screen working again by hitting 'apply'
got the 'leftmost' thing working now too...
MAN THAT APPLY BUTTON MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE DOESN'T IT?

shield disruptor/inverter//damage amplification
would give an extra bit of reasoning to using armor instead
also could take a weapons slot thereby lowering damage under unshielded circumstances
