Re: Did you ever quit a game because it was too easy?

On my list: more stealth/scanning parts to make slowly finding things in Ion Storms in the early/mid game viable—I think they're great fun and the rework makes them far far better, but they also annoy in part because there's nothing you can do about it. How about using large batches of scouts to im...

Re: A little bit of politics

The EU is very similar to communism, democracy and capitalism - it is absolutely ideal in theory, but never works as it should in reality. Many of the things that it brought us are great for the citizens (Schengen, Euro currency, etc.), but were spoiled by the politicians on almost all levels:( I do...

Re: Did you ever quit a game because it was too easy?

I had a game recently where three of my first five colonizers arrived at systems the same turn Ion Storms spawned there, only to get wiped out by monsters I didn't see because of the storms. So I'm not the only one who noticed that Ion Storms turn up exactly where and when my colony ship or trooper...

Re: Did you ever quit a game because it was too easy?

also, low starlanes, cause it can create some interesting dilemmas, even for the player :D I would say that low starlanes make it easier to defend. The advantage we have over AI is that we use starlane bore to suddenly pop up behind the enemy's lines and take 1 or 2 planets before AI can react and ...

Re: Phantom mines?

The issue has repeated itself in a new game, on the newer build. I have added the details, including screen + save, as a comment to the GitHub issue.

Re: Phantom mines?

Good news - it turns out that I did save the game, but on the next turn. I've attached this save to the GitHub issue:
GitHub - Mine damage in system with no mines #703

Thank you for the instructions:)

Re: Phantom mines?

Ok, in that case, can you create a github issue? Unfortunately, I've never done this:( Are there any instructions available online? Providing a save the reproduces the issue would be helpful. You're right, I should have kept a copy of that savegame, but forgot:( Do you guys think I should start tha...

Re: Phantom mines?

After researching up to Omni-scanner I can confirm that no other planets, natives or specials in this system, apart from what was already visible.

The exact same situation happened a few turns later in another system - also no hidden natives nor fortresses.

So it appears to be a bug.

Phantom mines?

Build 2016-05-30.fc49608 Not far into the game an AI troopship wandered to one of my planets and... was destroyed. This surprised me as I had not researched ANY defense techs (no Planetary Defense, Mines, etc., only Force Filed Harmonics, which gives shields), and the only ship in the system was an ...

Re: Cool New features

the empire name stays the same regardless of what race you select. This may be because the species who is actually playing the non-AI player is usually Human, or at least Terran. But you can change this when setting up a game. *also changing the default name of the empire upon selecting a new race....

Re: new game on FreeOrion_2016-05-19.4781a80_Test_Win32

I play super-aggressive colonization, minimal military until necessary, research focus on growth and bonuses first. Typically chato, cray or gysache and with 30-50 systems per AI; I rarely have any trouble beating the computer. Just like me:) So I more or less agree with all of your observations. S...

No New Star

Playing newest test build (16-05-2016).

SitRep states that a new star has been formed in Deep Space, but when I click on the location there is no star:

Re: Feedback needed: Production Priorities

OK, how's this? I loaded my game at turn 150, set GGG to industry and waited ~40 turns for it to stabilize. So here is a breakdown of the output: 1) Gis Guf Gthrim, large toxic planet with red star, population 40.0: - Target Industry 63.0 - GGG Industry Focus +8.00 - Tech Fusion Generation +8.00 - T...

Re: Feedback needed: Production Priorities

I am 170 turns into my first game with this week's build (2016-05-16.b0c0de8). I almost always play Gysache, so have I noticed any difference in this game, compared to previous builds? Not really. (Maybe I don't know where to look?) I was lucky to be close to a planet with Gis Guf Gthrim, so I could...
