Re: Civ 3 vs Civ 4
In my opinion Civ4 brings the best things with it. A better diplomacy, specially in KI behaviour. The gameplay itself goes a bit...swifter if you can say this....it feels like the KI is not cheating all the time to make and win wars against you. Its pretty hard but fair, the gameflow is nice an &quo...

Re: AI behaviors
Ok nice idea but shoudln't there be some "downcounter" on these numbers? Perhaps every 10turns without any conflict you like each other a bit more and the higher number is decreased. So that both civs become more similar with the time, perhaps you can explain it with heavy trade or exchang...

Re: AI behaviors
there was (as it seems) a difference between AI and human controlles empires, because often you get a GNN newsflash that says smth like "the elerian empire has surrendered to the silicoids". so it looks like AI surrenders to AI but not to human players. even if you test it for fun, to bomb...

Re: Ground Combat Thoughts
Since youre research labs found the tech "cloning" or smth similar the great ammount of people needed to control a planet should be the smallest problem i think. the size also doesn't really matter, the only thing that should be nearly correct is the real size, so the pictures of infantry ...

Re: Asteroid Belts (in various sizes)
Thats a very nice idea! I think this would make great effect on the game. What is also important (maybe doesnt fit perfectly here) is that a player should be able to form artificial planets even in systems that are uninhabitable. so differently like MoO2. Perhaps when all habitable planets are destr...

Re: Ground Combat Thoughts
Indeed, and its that what should be priority in a space simulating TBS like FO. The only question is, SHOULD ground battle be integrated, and if yes, how? The idea of making a groundbattle interactive is very cool. But it also could look like one of the first two parts of MoO, just send troops....th...

Re: Ground Combat Thoughts
Take a look at "Imperium Galactica 2". It has space AND ground combat. It just uses tanks and no infantry but same as space combat you can build defense towers on ground (the better the more you tech) and you can also get assist from orbit surrounding warships or bombers (has to be teched ...

Re: Preliminary thoughts about diplomacy
To get information about another empire would include that you have used your spies (or actually have one in use) on the empire you are dealing with. because it's not so realistic to make a first contact and then get all information displayed... I quess you mean it like the diplomacy in "imperi...

Re: Space Combat - v0.4
Yeah i've read this part. but it just says there should be some defenses for a planet. in detail, what will they llok like? will they be buildable or automaticly be there. an (what i asked in the first post) can they (if there will be more of them) picked out in a fight and taken down one-by-one. or...

Space Combat - v0.4
Infact i haven't found an adequate thread i'll open a new one. what i have seen in the design pad for the 0.4 version is interesting, but i'm missing a small part. it's about the offensive charakter of a planet when attacked... since i have just found a small space station in the game itself i would...

Re: Preliminary thoughts about diplomacy
sounds attractive, but has the ambassador the chance to "level up" in skill? if yes, how? if no, can you kick his ass out if you find a better one? CAN you find a better one? if yes, how? ^^ if no, it's an unfair thing....even if its random who got the "diplomatic-boons" at start...

Re: Preliminary thoughts about diplomacy
In addition to the "diplomatic message notification" my idea would be to let the "Diplomacy" menu button blink.
Or colour its frame while new messages haven't been read...

I just meant after having a the tech fnished (of before researching the first tech) Some Kind of SitRep window where you can see all available researches in a small list, not a diagramm (like civ4) Here attached a civ4 screenie, not the research but it is the same anyway... http://...
