Re: Stops compiling at TechTreeWnd.cpp

The patch worked like a charm. It finished building and the research button doesn't crash the game :D

Re: Stops compiling at TechTreeWnd.cpp

Yeah, I just found the old threads dealing with this. It seems it is some sort of graphviz version problem... The latest binary build works, but crashes for me when I hit the research button because I'm running a 64bit OS (again, a graphviz problem...) quantax seems to have made a patch for compilin...

Stops compiling at TechTreeWnd.cpp

GiGi built fine and FreeOrion was building fine until it got to TechTreeWnd.cpp. Attempted build on May 17 from SVN: /usr/include/graphviz -Inetwork UI/DesignWnd.cpp UI/DesignWnd.cpp: In member function 'void DesignWnd::MainPanel::DoLayout()': UI/DesignWnd.cpp:1816: warning: unused variable 'MIN_EDI...

Re: Statically linked Linux-version

Hmm... I tried running ./freeorion. I got this: Following into my basedir CWD: /home/user/games/freeorion/application And that's it, back to the prompt. WTF? I'm feeling really dumb here. Hm, all that output is normal, it should launch the freeorion window. I assume you are running X, so I don't kn...

Re: Statically linked Linux-version

Hi: I'm having a little trouble with running this game. I've downloaded the latest file, untarred it in my /home/user/games directory, went into the new freeorion directory, and tried to run the command "freeorion," but it says "command not found," despite the fact that an execu...

You said you got it working on Ubuntu 8.04? Is this 64 bit as well? If so, can you access the research menu?

Re: Statically linked Linux-version

First of all, I love the option for a Linux binary! I compiled freeorion a while back on Gutsy and it was a hassle, even moreso for a newer Linux user. I can confirm that the binary runs on 64bit systems (Hardy to be exact), but it seems the research button crashes the game. When I compiled it on Gu...
