My first compile attempt fail
So I tried to compile on linux for the first time. I got sources from SVN trunk and followed the instructions. I started compiling GG and after several successfully compiled files I got this. g++ -o src/Texture.os -c -pthread -Wall -Wno-parentheses -O2 -fPIC -I/usr/include/freetype2 -I. -Ilibltdl sr...

Re: Can't checkout from SVN trunk
Thanks, finally managed to CO it with command line svn. Subclipse still gives errors and sometimes even kills Xorg on checkout attempts. Now trying to modify the code and compile...

Can't checkout from SVN trunk
I tried twice using Subclipse plugin and once more with bare SVN. It copies files normally at the beginning but at some point it stops, Subclipse shows an error message, svn in terminal is just stuck for hours on the same file. I have no idea of what I'm doing wrong and my connection is stable I'm n...

Re: Move to Google Code or Trac?
Does this thread mean that I'm not the only person having errors while trying to checkout from SVN?

Re: Looking for full time open source volunteering.
I tried using Eclipse for C++ (when I played with Orge or Crystalspace) and it felt a little slow. I'd like to know what IDEs are used by existing FO contributors. Is the compiling guide on wiki up to date? Any suggestions on working efficiently with RCS/diff? Never done it before except for CVS hel...

Looking for full time open source volunteering.
Hello. I started coding hello-worlds long long time ago yet only recently I started to learn it seriously. I have some knowledge of algorithms and I'm capable of actually writing the code yet I have no experience in serious projects, which means I'm bad at tools (using non-trivial IDE functions) I h...

Re: Proposal for elimination of Population
Population can still be used for:
1. United races votes.
2. Different races with different special abilities and racial bonuses. If you conquered a race of merchants you probably want them to migrate to your economy world, not your manufacturing capital.

Re: Proposal for elimination of Population
That's why I say that population should be transportable unlike development meter that just grows locally. :) The point is population is unnecessary... you Don't want to move your basic unit of economic production. (Except for colonization). Than what's the role of the player except for pressing &q...
