Re: Experiment Zero without experimentors

It is quite some time that I played weekly build (had some issues with my kosy-mod) and can't tell for recent builds. In my last version it was still possible to spot the system. At least the sun, if there you could also spot other planets. You can just realise that its the experimentors system bec...

Re: Experiment Zero without experimentors

I did that most times, because I always play medium galaxies (~180 systems) and force to explore the whole galaxy. Till 0.5 it shows a ring without starlanes as system, but the experimentors planet is not visible at all, only other planets in the system. That's why you actually can spot the system ...

Re: Asteroid natives dependent on empire

Can rebel troops ever be negative? Probably someone wanted to be extra defensive about it and went bit overboard.
If the second term were negative, then max() would return 0.0, so the troop level would never be negative.

Re: Abandoning a Planet

I haven't really looked into the new features, but relevant to this situation is there a potential action for self-governance? Something like, the empire doesn't get anything or pay anything or not much, but the self-governing former colony is allied to the empire so supply would propagate.

Re: Twentieth game on the multiplayer slow game server

In one of the granddaddies of the genre, Starweb (originally play-by-mail), there weren't different species but different culture types. Empire Builders, Merchants, Pirates, Berserkers (robots), and Artifact Collectors. I think that's it. Edit: There was also Apostle. Anyway, players of the various ...

Unless it's changed recently, you certainly can. I've done it when I wanted a rapid change of species at a planet.

Re: Popular Terraforming

One could accomplish the same thing with a colony ship, which is slightly more expensive of course, and would require a source within a sufficient distance.

What does that mean?
It means I did a typo (hamming distance 1).
JFYI: just for your information
Ah. I wouldn't have known that immediately either, but a web search would have readily revealed the answer.

What does that mean? A web search turns up nothing likely. FYI typically means "For Your Information" so I assume that's part of it.

Re: Add the game to steam

I suppose you can just watch "let's play" videos. They exist even about FreeOrion. The ones I've seen aren't very good. I mean, you can kind of get a bit of a feel, but of course almost all are not obsolete and people viewing will get an erroneous idea of the game. I actually was toying w...

Re: Godot Android client

I have been looking at Godot for a project that I've been considering. I could probably do what I'm envisioning in MSVC Forms more easily, as I have a lot of experience with that, but I don't think there would be any cross-platform capability there.

Re: Bonus Black Krakens

If you want to try it: you have to kill the Experimentors by bombing them with Chaos Rays, then found an outpost on the planet. Haven't used Chaos Ray. Does it completely destroy the colony structure as well as the population? Normally depopulated planets revert to an outpost, so you wouldn't need ...

A fake plural of "bonus".

The opposite of "bonus".
