I need help with GG. it uses libltdl that needs lots of config info. Can anyone provide a working GG project for MSVC 7.1? or config.h for that compiler? or GiGi and GiGiSDL libs and dlls for win32.

Agreed with Impaler: only design of a ship that has a new tactical role is fun. For a simple upgrade/refit task I'd use a auto-button. No ship design is the main reason why I hate GalCiv. The other one is detailed system movement/micro-manadgement. I'd like ship design to be a vital strategical elem...

Stars! approach to my mind is somewhat limiting. As it tries to have required hull types for every general strategy you choose (stealth, long range, close range, chaff...) it had only few competitive solutions to ship designs. Stars! is more of a strategy game (chess-like), with a limiting universe....

Phased-Time

One observation regarding Phased Time: if it the game is in the middle of a real-time phase nothing should prevent you from giving orders as if it's a full realtime battle. This fixes the problem of pausing occuring at inappropriate moments.
