Re: AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

If they started out as larvae they were not visible to me then and wandered into view after morphing into Great ones. As I said I was playing just an exploratory game and was trying to pick out the new stuff on my own and checking it out as it showed up or I get a message in Sitrep. They were defini...

Re: AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

Active Radar researched on turn 28. Pedia screenshot was from around turn 100. I have played version 4.2 a ton so I am good with the mechanics of the game. To give some perspective I have over 180 saved games just since January and I save once per 25 turns. Never went to 4.3 because frankly I did no...

Re: Outpost base not allowing colonization

I went back to check and see if I could colonize it after the storm passed and found I had no autosave games in the folder even though I have both single and multiplayer options checked and turns between autosave is set to 1 with the limit set to 20. I did have a manual save on turn 75 so used that ...

Re: AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

That is the basic starting tech build I use. However with what looked like an enemy close by I shifted research to ship builds.

Still not sure what the ship icon there was as I have only ever seen it represent an player ship.

Outpost base not allowing colonization

Just built two outpost base modules in a system I colonized but no option to allow me to colonize the asteroid belts in the system. Has something changed or am I missing something? I have other outpost bases that I have built and used so must be something I am missing. First screenshot shows where I...

Re: Do the Monster Frequency Settings work?

Bummer. I like the randomness of the Sentries and Sentinels. Plus this also offers some potential protection early in the game if you are close to an enemy and many times offers the ability to use them just as their name implies by not having to defend that system if a Sentinel is present. At least ...

Re: AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

Possibly, not something that was in the prior version I was playing. Thanks for the advice but I am just feeling it out and while it looks like I am not allocating enough research but only one planet is focused on research out of the 3 I own in this game. The rest are either outposts or have a speci...

Re: Do the Monster Frequency Settings work?

Yes, I understand where and how they work. Just wondering what the settings really do in the game? At low the monster frequency would be calculated how? What is the factor being used to calculate their frequency? I also vaguely remembering if you capture a planet with say a Kraken Nest and you had r...

Do the Monster Frequency Settings work?

On the older version I was playing I always turned this option off since even on a low setting those things seemed to multiply like cockroaches. So since I just started playing version 4.5 I thought I would turn this option back on to see if it was viable. Nope, can't do it. Seems about turn 60ish t...

Re: AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

Sure here is one. I have a new robotic hull warship that was also just destroyed there. Also, have to eat my words a bit now though. Just had an outpost ship pass through a system with a Dyson Forest hidden in it and said it took some damage but made it through. First time I have ever had a non-wars...

AI Ships Immune to space monsters?

Just started playing version 4.5 and I notice early on that an enemy scout ship is in a system that is fairly close to my home planet. The interesting thing is it had to pass through a system with a sentry to get there. In all my games played and I have played LOTS this issue has existed. It has not...
