Iv also noticed that when playing agianst multiple opponents, they will always seem to launch an attack when only one remains. And occasionally after you destroy another empire.
In earlier versions iv never seen this behavior.
So i dont think you are imagining it.

I think it should cost about ⅔ of the Mass Driver to counter that. I think you underestimate how weak 1 damage packets are against shields. I would suggest a figure more like 1/3 to 1/4th the price. Having flak be efficient early game would add a bit more to player's decision to research shields ea...

From my testing, all fighters die near instantly. Makes them very impotent and ineffective. Leaves the carrier left alone as an overcosted (in terms of both research and production) land whale. If they were dirt cheap, i could excuse it as being a budget option... but as is they are VERY overcosted ...

It often happens, you invade a planet in a system, where you have troop drops and troop ships, that the troop ship are used first. I think first all drops pods should be used and only if necessary to take the planet the troop ships. Reminds me of outpost drops and outpost ships... except much more ...

You can't win without production and research. You absolutely can win without having a single planet ever focus on research. Mass drivers and diamond armor are enough to conquer the entire galaxy. Simply getting population and industry levels up will give you all you need to out produce every other...

In the last 4 games with 12 maniacal opponents each i was only attacked twice. The AI doesnt seem to aggressively expand (or even place too many outposts in multi planet systems). Nowhere in the description of either the hull or the tech does it mention it can only be produced in blackhole systems. Energy compressor and solar containment dont mention blackhole only either.
Is it an oversight of the description or a bug?
