Re: New features to test: ship design revamp & engines limit
Completely off topic to this thread. Sorry about that. :( But no, it's deliberate, they're not the only species that prefer doing something they're not as good at and it acts as a mild nerf on their otherwise overpowered stats. There's a thread on it somewhere when we set the preferences for all sp...

Re: New features to test: ship design revamp & engines limit
Damn... I've obviously read the initial post incorrectly. I was hoping to be able to rearrange the order of the 'Producible Items list' as there are a number of things that pop up as the game goes on, that I will never build, but take up valuable visible real estate at the top of that list.
Sigh...

Any chance of someone fixing the Kobuntura script?
They have 'great industry', yet their preferred focus is research... seems a little counter intuitive.

Re: Replace Victory with Achievements
Current one can "win" a game of FreeOrion by researching the transcendence tech, or by defeating all other empires. These goals are rather boring or tedious, and don't give much motivation to do creative / different varied things in game. I have never finished a game for this very reason.

Problem colonizing a toxic planet for Chato
I've just started a game playing Chato. I've found a toxic planet (preferred planet type) with a computronium moon in a black hole system, and there is another planet with Kobuntura. When I look at the planet suitability, it's Good (-23). I thought this may be a visual bug, but when I colonized it, ...

Re: General experience with 0.4.7 RC1
Minor issue.
Systems that have all Spacial bodies occupied with a colony/outpost, still give you the option of creating an outpost base. This is pointless as you will not be able to use it.
Bug?

Re: Planet ordering in star systems
I couldn't stop laughing at this (and I do understand it was said with a smattering of semi-sarcism). Obviously, we all play video games to be in tune with the real world.MatGB wrote:... I think we'd get sooo many complaints because it broke the perception of realism...

Planet ordering in star systems
Currently, planets are displayed in order according to their number suffix. From a visual perspective, star systems with a large number of planets (I've just found one with 7) starts to become a little cumbersome, having to scroll up and down the list (which gets bigger once you start colonizing som...

Re: Ship sizing on map
I had a look at that earlier, but it didn't seem to work. Having another play with it, I found there were a number of settings I had to change to get what I wanted.
Thanks Geoff.

Ship sizing on map
When zooming the map out/in, there is a threshold where the ship/monster icons change from 'informative' to 'general' i.e. zooming in, you can tell what type of ship is there (scout, troop, fighter etc), zooming out, they all look the same. I like zooming out as much as possible to have more of the ...

Planet naming error
I think something went wrong at Krull.
It doesn't appear to be affecting production, but I've only just noticed it, so not sure.

Re: UI - Keyboard Shortcuts
That looks like you've got an out of date stringtable, not sure how that's happened, try downloading a new copy from github? Ahhh, ok. That would explain it. I've had to 'doctor' the stringtable to change some of the names of various things I didn't like, and just copy that file over the new versio...
