How would you place them? Randomly? Universe generation should still make sure the galaxy remains connected in all directions.

Ship design and tactical combat in MOO2 was real fun. I remember early in the game I sometimes outmaneuvered enemy missiles. I solved it by de-installing python-3.9.
Maybe one day I should re-install the entire machine. After upgrading to the 3rd(?) Debian version I probably have a lot of useless old packages installed
