So the fields that give research? I think these need to dissipate a little quicker to discourage spamming small ships and parking them in the field. If you do that they'll be even more of a luck factor as no one would have time to build a strategy (if they don't already have a fleet nearby) before ...

One good thing of old DTC was that it allowed a base Research value (probably too much of it, I admit) even without focus. Making it (or another one, maybe ? It's just that if fits well with DTC fluff) produce pop-based non-focused Research with high Stability would imho be an interesting thing, and...

Still, if I'm sometimes able to recognize ugly when I see it, it doesn't mean that I'm able to correct this ugliness.
I think that in this topic there was a proposition to use blueprints for ship design; that would fix the problem I guess.

Also, since it's a very minor tweak : is it possible to have the Molecular Cloud in 5.0 revert to their initial (and much more interesting) effect of entirely nullifying shields rather than just reducing them a little bit ?

Solar concentrator is just another piece of unbalanced garbage, don't use it. It adds on average much less than the laser technology refinements and cost a shitload of PPs for the best case bonus being equal to another (cheaper) laser, unless you buy the sentient hull and fill all its external slot...

They're not all beautiful, but most of them are easily readable - which is the main goal of an icon.
