Re: The Trayeggadora

Another image created by 'Obiwan'. This is a young member of the space corps, in uniform, perhaps a scientist. The image on the uniform was based on the 'Tanglewood' forests of their homeworld. I don't have an image of the 'Tanglewoods' to resubmit at the moment. The trees didn't have the tall strai...

Re: The Trayeggadora

Resubmitting an image that now has a broken link. This concept image is titled 'Primitive Trayeggadora' by it's creator "Obiwan". The concept image was created for the Trayeggadora race that I created at the start of this thread.

Re: Tusk

I haven't heard from Jon in ages. He did some killer images of my 'Trayeggadora' race about four years ago.

I just noticed that those images no longer load. I'll try to dig up an old email for him and see if it's still valid.

Re: Race and ships 3D

pd, did you consider it possible that the horns might be part of a head-dress ala a Viking head-dress with horns? It's also possible the chest piece is made of a pliable material and coloured gold. I'm all for a critical eye towards a constructive end, but I think you could be a little more lenient ...

Re: Tech Icons

Freespace is still an incredible game, even after 12 years. The recent Derelict Mod is awesome. I've often wondered if the Freespace FRED campaign designer combat engine could be modded and temporarily used as a place marker for FreeOrion combat. Create a predefined combat scenario to play out, no p...

Tzlaine wrote: No that you've seen the specifics, here's the big picture -- what shipyards give us if we do them right. In most 4X games, dealing a blow to a strategic target is hard to do. You can capture a "rich"/"artifact" world, or one with a wonder on it, and that's about it. Usually this doesn...

Re: v0.4 Roadmap

MikkoM, you show with your points about facing, why facing could also be strategic. If a player chooses to use an aggressive approach to gameplay, they could specifically design their ships with intentional facings to support their aggressive nature. A likely scenario would be ships with almost all ...

Re: Ships: Engines

Ditto, I'm in agreement as well. Geoff's summation, immediately above, doesn't seem to close any doors toward how I envision things should ultimately transpire in future development. Make it so.
