...last precious jewel of complex Paradox games. Im not really knowledgable about paradox as ive only just started following, but i tkat it from your remark they are experiencing difficulties (of the financial nature?). No doubt the development team would form another company, and continue to devel...

Heres a way to explain starlanes: Look at Babylon 5. They use starlanes in the form of 'Jumpgates'. When their jumping, they have set routes in hyperspace to follow in the form of beacons (created by an unknown race many thousands of years ago to track stable routes). Deviating from this course will...

Heh, its a personal opinion - horses for courses innit? Did IGIII actually get released? The reason i didnt list it was because (IIRC) it was either canned, or it got transformed into more of a 'Homeworld' type of game. May be mistaken though. Well, play.com are selling it here (not avaliable at th...

Star Wars: Rebellion Known as Star Wars: Supremacy in the UK (and Europe, I believe?!) VGA planets, I think, is one - though I've never played it: Yes, it is. Dont forget: Imperium Galactica Imperium Galactica II (although i'd very much like to) Thats a bit harsh. I think they were very good by pro...

It will be fanatistic if the player can both micro and macro. My problem is, how do we to do that? AI. Say, you can decide to micromanage what each planet builds, and when they finish, you choose what they build next, -OR- You just goto the 'colonies list' (or whatever) and select 'industrial' for ...

I would like to propose the use of system ships , void of a warp drive, they offer more space for weapons, specials. Gives a one on one advantage to the defender ship of same class. I would allow attacking carriers to bring system ships in system to fight, if they fit inside or onto a carrier. They ...

I could use more examples, but seriously, when it boils down, nearly everything is a modified RPS. Its true, any game where the idea is to defeat an opponent through warfare and control of an army (there are other examples obviously, but this one is true for all wargames (RTS, TBS, 4X, etc.), there...

Maybe, if we implement a time limit, and the timer runs out, but the attackers fleet is very obviously stronger than the defender, we should have a stalemate, and the system becomes blockaded by the attacker. Each turn, the attacker can decide to finish them off, or the defender could decide to brea...
