System number wrong [rev 4279]

When I set 'systems' to 60, I get around 20-30 systems.

When I set it to 20, I got 8 systems and same number of deep space.

There's two solutions:
a) either it generates a smaller number of systems than it should
b) deep space is counted as a 'system' too and nobody informed us...

I played up to turn circa 700 in a game that was supposed to be 60 stars (was around 20-30). My thoughts: - planet list / ship list is absolutely necessary when you have 3+ planets in every of 30 systems - is there a way to hide the planets in the sidepanel so that you have only the system summary (...

I like the ideas as presented in the first post. And yes, I agree - tactical map is not necessary, although some auto function might be nice.

I know. But if you have a number for the ship supply, then a number for planet supply would be nice too.

Sortable/Filterable lists are necessary to deal with that many entities.
Seconded. I've noticed some of the things are already done in svn (question marks for unexplored systems, detection radius)... maybe the lists would be next?

Eleazar: A request then, to clarify in-game which supply lines are which, maybe rename the fleet supply lines to smth else...

Updated the quick play guide to reflect the changes introduced in rev 4252 and rev 4279. They are marked as referring to those revisions, to keep newbies in the clear!

Also, the guide contains some tips for the beginners now - look for them at the end!

I'm playing as Humans so that the best suited planets are terran. I built Terraforming on an ocean planet. It still is ocean. Nothing happened. The health & pop max didn't change, either.

I fired up a different game, with specials set to medium.

I was no longer overrun by monsters.

But I noticed another bug: terraforming doesn't work... :(

Nests at a distance aren't a bad idea - I end up swarmed with monsters because there's three lairs in the 3 rounds' distance from the home planet...

- random generation seems not to work - three games in a row with my home planet being Ancha and the surrounding planets the same order and names, even down to the monster lairs
- I don't want monsters! yet I get them even with life frequency = zero...
