Will the sun be at the top of the sidepanel? (e.g. Ka's suns).

Mmm, yummy planets. I can't wait to conquer them, make slaves of their inhabitants, and crush the galaxy beneath the heel of my boot :) Oh also maybe toxic should have more clouds, ala Venus. Venus has so many clouds that the surface was only recently mapped, by radar from orbit. There can be differ...

I doubt Daveybaby has been at ATMoo lately. Probably he doesn't realise that the angry flamers are mostly gone, and anyone who's still there is a diehard TBS junkie. And JosEPh you were a late comer to ATMoo and missed most of the really obnoxious people IIRC. Just a difference in perspective here I...

where EventMousewheel would convince GG that a mouse wheel event had occurred That's probably not such a good idea... better to have keys and mouse both call the same abstracted zooming code. I think this is pretty trivial but I haven't figured out how to do it (it can't be harder than the win32 ap...

I think I understand now. Ka's suns were supposed to be displayed at the top of the sidepanel (where it would make sense to see a 'close-up' version of the star). Sorry for any confusion.

I'm not saying it needs to be displayed... at least not on a linear scale :)

But the stars are so much heavier than the planets!
Surely it's easier to move the planets ;)

I like the relative sizes idea because the sizes of planets and stars vary over such HUGE scales. edit: Doh, I pressed Edit instead of reply on this message. Destroyed most of it. Returned to using Drekmonger instead of drek account. --drek Btw: replying to say this would be an excellent way of doin...

Hmm ok. So gas giants are always the same size? Won't that make the gas giant race rather boring to play? Compare Jupiter with neptune, no way they're the same size.

OK I will go back to v0.1 stars for now as that seems to be consensus. You might notice too that we need art for swamp, inferno, asteroids, gas giants, white and orange stars, and neutron stars and black holes.

v0.2 universe screenshot

Image
I used ka's stars and the universe generation algorithms in the design document. Looks nice huh? I'm not sure what's going on with all the red though.

sure, but environmental conditions are relative to race. Some races might have Terran=inhospitable. Currently humans are the only race (v0.2).

requirements question on planet size/type/environment

Can be colonized. ? Large: Earth x 1.5. Can be colonized. ? Massive: Earth x 2. Can be colonized. ? Astero...
