It might get tricky to do this though, as you'd need to be sure that there are no duplicate macros included from different macro files, and that none of the string keys conflict with macro keys. The keys imported from scripts could have a commonc prefix (like FOCS_ or SCRIPT_) or even be prefixed w...

Civ IV had toroid and cylindrical, IIRC, but I'm not sure if it allowed zooming out... still, a rectangular minimap was always accessible. Cylindrical and toroidal maps generally look good in a rectangular section and can be scrolled if words at the wrapping border need to be seen.

Note, that merely connecting the systems would not be enough. There are some effects, that take into account euclidean distance (in uu), not topological distance (in jumps).

How about adding a space monster that is basically an Nerada-infested asteroid, but it shares the telepathic vision with the species (is an unowned ship crewed by Nerada)? Actually, thinking about it, the Nerada could be beefed up a little and become a second end-game threat, just like Experimenters...

What i would rather have is the outpost-a-planet-in-supply-without-any-hull feature (build an outpost/colony building directly on an unowned planet), then both our issues would go away and it simplify the whole enchilada. I have another suggestion regarding decoys: Maybe have loosing ships en masse incur a cost in happiness, for example on the planet they were built on and/or at the allied sytem they were destroyed at (for human shield scouts)? This would add another trade-off to consider when employing zerg tactics....

I was thinking about drone hangars as a way for bad pilots species to overcome their weakness. The drones would have no species (or a drone-specific species like Drone AI Mk I, Drone AI Mk II etc).

How about a core slot part that unlocks with stargates and enables to teleport all the fighters outside in the first round (has inifinite/maximum ejecting capacity)?

Can string table entry reference other entries? You mention Ki Spice and Caretaker's fruit in the example. Translators would need to make sure that the names in example are translated exactly as they are outside the example.
