Re: The Trith

They're good, but you might want to look at the face again, it seem a little... maybe slackjawed?

Re: The Trith

There are other ways than colours to show emotions, for example when they get mad they things could start exploding around them, and of course there's always body language.

Pic looks great PD, especially the whirls next to the fingers

Re: The Trith

Insignia eh, how about something to represent the Trith inside something to represent nothing to show their ideal: Trith and nothing else.

Also are the Trith religious? I thought the Eaxaw were our religious nuts while the Trith want to kill everyone for purely practical reasons.

Re: Preliminary Ground Combat Proposal

I'm not so sure I like this idea of my regions, their regions. I'd prefer something more along the lines of fighting in every region at once. Its messy and uncoordinated :) Also bombing should have political repercussions and collateral damage as the primary penalties, hitting your own men isn't a p...

Re: Preliminary Ground Combat Proposal

One thing I've been thinking about ground combat is that it should feel big, like really really big. Months of combat involving millions of troops* on each side big. A ship is expensive, troops are cheep and plentiful and even if they weren't the sheer size of a planet means that to have any sort of...

Re: Powerful tech/spells makes "Master of Orion/Magic" unique

Our tech tree is totally preliminary, no one has decided what things are really going to do yet. The general shape is probably going to stay though.

The Cray

The Cray Introduction A minor robotic race, physically powerful, extremely intelligent but few in number. As an extremely young race the Cray are unsure of their place in the universe and compensate by throwing themselves into galactic life with unbridled enthusiasm. Homeworld A frozen wasteland wi...

How about something like this, it shows my impressive lack of artistic skill but a proposed layout is still clear.

Re: New Buildings

Two reasons: firstly a fast way to increase, unlike the construction meter a building can import production points from off world. And secondly to push past the construction meter's maximum to extend your supply to key locations like a choke point from a safe distance.

Re: Alternate Backstory (with an eye toward Gameplay)

You know, aliens or not they're still people. With a few exceptions they don't need monoliths to fight, they'll do it anyway. 1. Its very easy for the 'fluff' to be flexible.. as I mentioned "believed to". Precursors can easily be described as "legendary" whether they are in the game or not [whether...

Re: New Buildings

The supply building might be interesting, but as it is now, it doesn't really fit with the game mechanics. There's no way to make resource supply lines get longer, except by increasing planets' construction meters. We could separate them and have a meter just for resource supply, but people are alr...

Re: New Buildings

How is galactic medical center different from The Caducean Institute? And I'm not clear on how spaceports work but it sounds like it creates an automatic trade network between planets, that happens automatically without building anything. Josh, I like those ideas with a just the one nitpick: Minefie...

Re: Capturing ships, disabling ships, immobilizing ships.

With capturing ships one of the things to keep aware of is those systems where you have to almost kill a ship, but not finish it off. It can get pretty annoying in a battle trying to micromanage just the right amount of damage.

Re: The Trith

On regards to visual balance, it definitely looks like its about to topple over forwards to me.

Also I'm no doctor, or engineer, but that spine is carrying a lot of weight while having a heck of a curve, that can't be healthy. That shouldn't really matter though.
